Welcome to my little space where I’m able to hop in and share little bits and pieces of my life. Since I first started this blog, so many things have happened, I’ve had a daughter and 2 grandchildren added to my family since. That’s crazy to think. It was never my intention to make a living out of blogging, but I really do wish that I would’ve thought to write better content and taken this blog more seriously and maybe aim to get something out of it. I mean I’ve had this blog for 8 years now!
I’ve written and update my “about me” page a few times over the years and I feel it perfect timing to do it again.
My name is Taira, I was born and raised on Oahu and still live in my childhood home. I’m so glad that when my dad was debating to sell it he decided to let me take over the mortgage and raise my own children here. I come from a huge family. My dad alone has over 100 FIRST cousins, so that kind of gives you an idea of just how big we’re talking. I grew up as the oldest of my cousins on both my mom and dads side. I’m so close to most of my cousins that I do consider them siblings, though I only have one sister. My family is a very tight knit family, every week we’d have a get together, most weekends were spent at the beach or at grams house.
I had my first son when I was 18 years young. He is literally the foundation to every choice I’ve made in my adult life. I had to wake up quick and started my adult life as a single mother. Fast forward a couple of years later, I met Kahele. We’ve been together for almost 20 years and in that time I’ve had 3 more kids. We’ve been asked over the years why we never got married. We just don’t feel the need to… maybe one day. We’ve built our family and raise our kids the best we can. I now have 2 sons 22 & 16 years old and 2 daughters 13 & 5. My oldest has a daughter (2yrs) and a son (1yr) making me a grandma of 2.
My life can get chaotic at times but I live in the most beautiful city on the most beautiful island in the most beautiful state! All I have to do it take a look outside to feel peace in this crazy world!
