I give this resort five stars.  From the moment of check in you are treated like VIP.  Every member of you family (or group) is given their own key personalized with their name on it, even the children.  Men are then presented with Kukui Nut leis, women Tuberose leis and the children a necklace.  When we arrived we needed to wait for our room to be ready, so the bell desk held our luggage and we were given access to the locker rooms and lounge.  Here we were able to use computers, phones, showers and lockers.  We were also able to swim in their pool.  You can definitely tell it is a Disney resort, you can hear the chimes, see the characters walking the grounds, and the decor is very much like you would see in Disneyland.  The theme of the resort is very Hawaiian and what I liked about it most was that it wasn’t “cheesy Hawaiian” like they do in Waikiki, it truly was accurate with the Hawaiian culture.  Disney worked hand in hand with local Hawaiians in order to reflect our rich Hawaiian culture through art work, language and the Aloha spirit that is exuded by staff members.  Our room was beautiful, our bed was comfortable with lots of pillows and even the pull out bed from the couch was comfortable.  The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub with a rain shower overhead.  The toilet had its own separate door.  Check out is at 11am, but just the same as check in you are able to swim in the pool until closing and use locker rooms and lounges as well, which we took full advantage of.  If you are planning a trip to Hawaii or even are Kama’aina you will not be disappointed.
