Wednesday Wishes

I  wish I lived somewhere where I could experience the 4 seasons of the year.  I live in Hawaii and it feels like Summer all year round.  I’d love to dress in warm clothing and breathe in the crisp cool air while Christmas Shopping.  This has always been a dream of mine.  As a child living in Hawaii, every year I prayed for snow and it never came.  Maybe when my children are grown and on their own I will buy a home where I can have these experiences.

  1. There are pros and cons to everything. Many people including me would think you are very lucky to live in Hawaii, it looks gorgeous. I have always wanted to go and I am slowly buy surely making my way around the globe 🙂 But I understand you feelings on the seasons.

I love the change of seasons everything just feels so festive. Summer is very warm and humid here in Toronto, and fall is my favorite, the leafs are beautiful and our home is all decorated for Thanksgiving. Winter is great here, the season is so festive, Christmas is beautiful with all the decorations and when it snows and everything is covered in white and it is really nice. The cons though are that when the snow begins to melt and the holidays are over the snow just gets dirty! It turns black and slushy from the dirt and cars on the road and then there are puddles of slush and ice and disgusting snow lol. Not to mention some winters we get so much snow that we have to shovel it, and that is back breaking work especially when you have a long driveway. Sometimes we hire people to do that because we don't want to. Also with snow comes ice and that is hazardous, my aunt slipped and broke her leg one year on the sidewalk. The snow and ice make driving dangerous! There are so many accidents and fatalities during that time of the year. My car and slipped and slid all over the road and it is scary! Also it is freezing here some winters. It hasn't been too bad the last few years but in the past it has gotten to around -40 with the wind factor and you can't go outside. Winter is so cold sometimes that your car doesn't start! The doors are covered in ice and you can't even get them open! But then its spring and its okay again lol.

Have you ever though of traveling during one of the seasons you want to experience? Why now go somewhere that gets snow? I remember being in Aruba one year for Christmas and it didn't feel the same lol.

  2. I've always wanted to live somewhere like Florida, so I could AVOID winter. But I guess if I think about it, I would miss it. At least a little. It is pretty, but I'm pretty much over the cold and snow after about a month of it. I've always dreamed of visiting Hawaii, but my husband won't fly. Maybe someday I'll be able to talk him into it?

  3. I everyone always wants a little of what they don't have. When I visit the mainland and the temp is the 50's I'm freezing my butt off lol. I'd probably get over the freezing weather after just a little bit. I think the experience is what I'm looking for…. drinking hot chocolate, bundling up and making an actual snowman.
