While attending a Reiki retreat a couple of years ago I met a woman who really knew her stuff when it came to essential oils. As we got to talking I let her know about my eczema and she told me about lavender oil and its benefits. When purchasing the oil at a specialty shop I found out that lavender oil has so many more uses and a lot of them target some personal problems that I have.
Some of the benefits of lavender oil…
I’m lucky that my eczema is not too bad- I find that during certain times of the year it will act up, mostly around my hair line and on my neck. When it does act up I take a few drops of lavender oil and mix it with kukui nut oil (coconut oil will do too)- I then rub it on my neck and hairline.
My massage therapist told me that when I’m experiencing headaches to take a few drops of oil, rub it between my fingers to warm it then applying some to my temple and nape of my neck. Then inhale the scent on my fingers deeply.
Dry hair and dandruff
I have not tried this on my scalp but I have mixed the oils with my hair serum. Not only does it only help to add sheen to my hair but it also acts as a nice scent that will leave your hair smelling great throughout the day.
At the first signs of an ear ache mix a few of drops of lavender oil and olive oil together. Put it in a syringe and float the syringe in some hot water to heat up the oils. Add a few drops of the oil into the ear. It aids in healing an infection and instantly soothes the ear. It feels so nice.
If you are a follower of mine then you know that I have suffered with depression and anxiety. This will not cure depression lol. But I love to have this scent while meditating. It does cause a nice feeling within.These are just some of the benefits of lavender oil that have worked for me personally. There are so many more things that (I’ve heard) lavender oil is good for- cuts, insect bites, chapped skin, cramps- I would love to hear of your experiences with lavender. My favorite thing about it is the scent… it’s so calming that I love it while falling asleep
