Is anyone else out there totally lost in what day it is? I’ve been really having to think about it lately. Everyday has been so routine for over a week. I’m so bored, so I can only imagine how it is for my kids. We’ve been trying to get them outside to run around and play ball but the weathers been pretty rainy here and it’s been hard to get out. Lords knows the last thing I need to do is have my kids getting a cold because I let them play in the rain. Because our days have become so blurred, I’ve decided to take pictures throughout the day so that we actually know what day we ran to the store or put gas in the car. It also gives me a little project to do. Please do not expect too many edited perfect photos, Although a color story app is my obsession. I’ll try my best to keep it interesting. I mean, I am only limited to my house, which is what makes this a challenge. I thought of this only this afternoon so I didn’t get many pics during the day but here they are…
Good Morning Everyone! Once again my weekend went by way too fast! Busy Busy Busy! On Friday evening we had a BBQ at my house. Sorry there are no pic to show except for these pretty cupcakes. I was having way too much fun drinking and catching up with friends and family that I honestly didn’t even have my phone on me. But the cupcakes were very pretty…
On Saturday Kuha’o had to take his SSAT’s while Tea had a baseball game. At about 2pm the kids and I headed over to Maui’s baseball game while Kahele headed off to his track meet. Maui did so good as catcher, but unfortunately they lost. Here’s a Vine that I got of him throwing out the guy heading to second base. Yay!
Sunday, we had some free time in the morning before heading off to Kuha’os baseball game (yes, baseball consumes all of our time). That evening we BBQ’d (again), this time at Kahele’s parents house. The evening was so pretty. Aria even seemed to be relaxed in Daddy’s arms.
My sister took my kids to California! Maui, Kuha’o and Tea are all at Disneyland as I write this post. They are sending me pictures and I’m getting so jealous of how much fun they’re having without me:( Before my brother-in-law passed he told my sister that when he goes he wants her to take his daughters along with all his nieces and nephews to Disneyland and have fun. For over two years their family struggled while dealing with his cancer and his wish was for my sister and his daughters to get off the island and have a fun trip to their favorite family destination.
I debated on whether it would be worth it to go, but after juggling with the thought I realized that traveling with a 3 month old just wouldn’t be fun for anyone. I wouldn’t be able to ride any rides and I’d just be holding everyone up with all the baggage that would have to be lugged around (stroller, car seat, etc.). In the end I decided not to go. It was so weird to not have to get breakfast ready for the kids and to actually sleep in for an extra half hour. As much as I want Monday to come around (that’s when they come back) I want them to have the time of their lives.
Here are some pictures that they sent to me
How was everyone’s 4th of July weekend? Mine was full of activity!
On Saturday we decided to head over to my aunty’s pool. We knew the beaches were going to be packed with people and we really didn’t want to even chance trying to find parking let alone a place to set up. The kids loved it and were literally in the pool for almost 6 hours straight. I even had to force my kids out every so often to reapply sunblock and hydrate. Later on that night we had a BBQ at Kahele’s parents home and watched the Pearl Harbor firework show. It was beautiful. I didn’t capture any pictures (oops).
On Sunday we gathered for a family party celebrating my dads birthday. My grandma steamed the most die-licious fish! All of the little cousins were running around and playing and even us big kids got in on the action and started taking over their volleyball and football games. For a moment I forgot I was pregnant and Kahele had to remind me not to try the skateboarding.
We finished off our long weekend last night by taking my dad out to dinner for his actual birthday. My sister and I along with our kids met at The Cattle Company, I absolutely love this restaurant. Unfortunately everyone dug into their dishes before I could capture any photos. But I did a photo of my die-licious salad.
Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! This weekend was full and exhausting but oh so fun. On Friday we finally got to pick up Kuha’o from explorations. I was beyond excited when we arrived for his Ho’ike at Kamehameha. I was amazed at their performance that they put on for the families- I was really impressed by all that they learned over just a 5 day span. He made so many new friends from the outer islands and he and my niece are still talking about how much fun they had.
On Saturday my family got together to support my cousin Kepa- he entered the Ikaika bodybuilding competition. He entered the physique portion of the competition and ended up placing 5th. We were so proud of him, he really worked his butt off and for his first time ever entering he did awesome. Kahele said that it inspired him to get back in the gym and start lifting again. I sat there and honestly was inspired to eat! lol. Before the competition we had dinner at my favorite restaurant, Shokudo, with a few of my cousins.
Kepa is on the far right. One thing about Iphones- they take great close up photos but terrible zoom shots.
Tiana, Alohi and I! My cousins and I are so close that we’re actually all like siblings 🙂 Good job on eliminating the baby bump in the pic Kahele lol.
On Sunday we were able to sleep in and have a lazy day before heading out to the 50th State Fair. It was overcast and the perfect weather to be at the fair. I can’t stand when it’s scorching hot at the fair. The kids had a blast and we spent way too much money. But we never feel too bad when the kids have those huge smiles on their faces.
That’s about it! I wish I’d taken more photos but when I’m enjoying myself I always get so caught up in the moment that I forget to capture it. Probably need to work on that little flaw while blogging lol 🙂
The weekend was pretty much spent near the water. We celebrated my niece’s birthday at the pool and on Sunday Kuha’o celebrated his 11th birthday at the beach. I can’t believe my little boy is 11! Where has the time gone? He used to be my little tail- he’d always be right beside me on the couch and could not sleep without me at night. Now he’s an independent young man. This upcoming week he’ll be spending a week at explorations (sort of a mini summer camp) at Kamehameha Schools. I don’t know how I’m going to survive it! I’m more nervous than he is. I’ve never put him in the care of someone I didn’t know- luckily Kahele used to be a dorm adviser at the school and he has a lot of friends up there that will be keeping an eye on my son. I will keep you all updated on my sanity during this time. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
On Saturday my Dad and Maui got up really early and headed over to Lanikai beach to set up an area for the day. My sister and her family headed out shortly after. After Kuha’os baseball game him and I rushed over to join them all. The kids had a blast and swam til their eyes were bloodshot red and their skin dark 🙂 I, of course, sat under a tent and avoided the sun. We BBQ-ed some really good food and snacked on some poke. Kahele missed out on all the fun because he was in Maui for his track meet. But I was sure to send him lots of snap chat pics and videos. Here are some pics from our fun day at the beach.
So, on Mother’s Day things didn’t go exactly according to planned. We were originally going to drive around the island and eat some Kahuku shrimp from Giovanni’s but it was rainy and windy and we really didn’t want to take a drive and eat outdoors in that type of weather. With no back up plan we sat and thought of something else to do. The boy’s all wanted to go and watch The Avengers and I wanted to watch Hot Pursuit. The boys all had breakfast and we (Tea and I) didn’t. What ended up happening was that the boys went ahead to watch their movie and Tea and I had lunch and saw Hot Pursuit. It all worked out so perfectly that when we exited our movie the boys were exiting theirs (because their movie was a whole hour and something longer than ours). We all ended up going home happy that afternoon! Happy faces was the best Mother’s Day gift.
